Candle Care & Safety

TRIM THE WICK:

When you receive your candle, the wick will be trimmed to the optimal height. Trim your wick to this height (1/4") before each use, to ensure a safe, clean burn and to increase the life of your candle.

THE MEMORY BURN:

The first burn is one of the most important burns. It sets the path for the next burn. If you only allow the candle to burn half of the diameter of the candle, then it becomes difficult for the next burn to melt the wax outside of that first burn. We recommend allowing the candle to melt the wax to the edges of the candle before blowing out the flame on the first burn. We also strongly encourage burning to the edges on every burn. This will create a beautiful scent throw and will prevent tunneling. 

SAFETY:

Burn candle within sight, keep away from drafts, keep out of reach of children and pets, only burn on a level, fire-resistant surface, don’t burn your candle for longer than 4 hours at a time, and don't burn near anything that can catch fire. To extinguish your candle, use a candle snuffer or gently blow out the flame. Be careful to avoid splashing melted wax. 

REUSE & RE-UP:

When there’s ½” of wax left, it’s time to clean out that glass and decide which Divinely Created Candle Co scent you will try next! Our jars and tins are reusable once properly cleaned--We've used them to organize thumbtacks, paperclips, nails, and other small items.
